What does website maintenance include?
Maintenance includes security updates, backups, monitoring and small content changes. It is agreed as a monthly fee based on what your site or application needs. You don’t have to remember the updates yourself, because we take care of them for you. In the free initial consultation, we tell you what we recommend for your situation.
Why does a website need maintenance?
Over time, security holes are found in the software that websites run on, and updates fix them. A site that is not updated can slow down, stop working or be broken into. A break-in can also put your customers’ data at risk. Regular maintenance reduces these risks, and any faults are noticed in time.
Can you maintain a site someone else built?
Often, yes. We first go through the site and tell you what condition it is in and what maintaining it would involve. You then get a written quote. Sometimes a redesign makes more sense than fixing the old site, and if so, we will tell you honestly.
How quickly do you help if something breaks?
How quickly we help is agreed in your maintenance agreement, based on your needs. We always reply to messages within 24 hours on weekdays. Thanks to monitoring, we often spot it ourselves if your site stops working. If you notice anything odd, just tell us and we will look into it.
Can I make changes myself?
Yes. If needed, we can add an easy-to-use update tool that lets you change things like texts and images yourself. If you don’t want to or don’t have the time, we make the changes for you as part of your maintenance agreement. You can also share the work: you make the small changes, and we handle the bigger ones.
